#HBCUTEENTH FREEDOM AWARDS
This year has been a tough one. In addition to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the nation is also dealing with social unrest as a result of systemic racism, police brutality, and years of injustice for people of color.
In an attempt to find a reason to smile, we launched this initiative to highlight HBCU Alumni who are fighting for freedom in their everyday lives and work. We nominated emerging professionals across four fields and selected winners through votes on social media. We had nearly 1,000 people participate in voting for our winners. Due to the overwhelming success of this inaugural initiative, we are already thinking about next year's awards and those to come.
And just like that, our 2020 Virtual Juneteenth Celebration Campaign has come to an end.
Congratulations to all of the HBCU Graduates who were nominated for an #HBCUteenth Freedom Award and especially, those who won in the end.
Thank you to everyone who voted and pre-ordered a copy of our Awards Journal. All printed copies will be mailed to the address on file in the coming weeks. For now, please enjoy our digital copy.
Until next year,
Club 1964, Inc.
